If you find a bat on the ground (dead or alive), do not pick it up or allow your animals to come in contact with it. There are many reasons why a bat may be sick or dead. Rabies is just one of many possibilities. Contact the Oldham County Health Department (222‐3516) if you find a sick or dead bat on your property.
